Reconstitution, Storage & Handling Guide

A printable laboratory reference covering how to reconstitute lyophilized NEXGN LAB research peptides with bacteriostatic water, a mixing-concentration table, post-reconstitution storage and stability windows by category, and general handling safety.

Reconstitution — Step by Step

  1. 1

    Equilibrate to room temperature

Remove the lyophilized vial from cold storage and allow it to reach room temperature. Reconstituting a cold vial can stress the peptide and slow dissolution.

  2. 2

    Sanitize both stoppers

Wipe the rubber stopper of the peptide vial and the bacteriostatic water (BAC) vial with a fresh alcohol swab and let them air-dry before any needle contact.

  3. 3

    Draw the diluent

Using a sterile syringe, draw the chosen volume of bacteriostatic water. See the mixing table below to convert your target reconstitution volume into concentration per unit.

  4. 4

Add diluent down the vial wall

Insert the needle at an angle and let the water run slowly down the inner glass wall — never inject the stream directly onto the lyophilized powder, which can denature the peptide.

  5. 5

Dissolve gently — do not shake

Swirl or roll the vial gently between your fingers until fully clear. Vigorous shaking introduces shear stress and foaming. If particulate or cloudiness remains, do not use.

  6. 6

    Refrigerate after reconstitution

Once in solution, store the vial at 2–8 °C (refrigerated). Reconstituted peptides are far less stable than the lyophilized form and should be used within the typical research window below.

Laboratory Handling Safety

  • Wear gloves and appropriate PPE when handling vials and diluents.
  • Use sterile, single-use syringes and needles for every draw.
  • Use only fresh bacteriostatic or sterile water as a diluent.
  • Never reuse needles or share vials between separate experiments.
  • Inspect solutions before use — discard if cloudy, discolored, or containing particulate.
  • Label every reconstituted vial with compound, concentration, and reconstitution date.
